Worker awareness

Duration: 45 minutes
Format: Interactive toolbox session, on site
For: All outdoor and mixed-exposure workers

Outcomes

Understand UV radiation, the UV index and skin cancer risk
Apply and reapply sunscreen correctly
Select and wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear
Recognise high-risk times, places and medications

Supervisor certification

Duration: Half-day
Format: Workshop with assessment and certificate of attendance
For: Supervisors, foremen, SHE officers and team leaders

Outcomes

Explain employer duties and the site policy
Run a UV risk assessment for a work area
Implement the 5-Step system and dispenser stations
Monitor, coach and record compliance

Train-the-trainer half day R9,500 (up to 12 supervisors) excl. VAT

Train-the-Trainer

Duration: 2 days
Format: Intensive facilitator programme
For: Internal trainers, SHE practitioners and peer educators

Outcomes

Apply adult-learning principles to sun safety
Customise material for your sites and languages
Assess competence and keep training records
Maintain the programme year on year

Four short modules on a phone, in the worker portal: UV and your skin, the 5 Steps, using sunscreen properly and checking your skin. Each ends with a quick question and a certificate of completion. Employers see aggregated completion rates only.
